So i have noticed recently that when im playing a large number of my games, Crossout, The Division and Archage to name a few, i have this glitch were i get black lines appearing and disappearing at the top of the screen. Im not sure if this is a card issue or cable issue. Im ruling out the games because they did not have these problems before. If you need additional info, let me know.

It is most probably card or driver issue.
Perform the below steps

1. Clean inside of your cabinet because dust are silent killers. They can do anything.

2. Uninstall drivers using Guru 3d driver uninstaller (use safe mode)

3. Download the latest drivers and use them.

4. How often do you change your thermal paste? It maybe heating issue. After cleaning inside of your pc, apply new thermal paste on your cpu. Watch videos on youtube on applying thermal paste. Dont do it without knowledge. Its easy but watch some videos so that you dont mess things up

Follow them. You should get good results. Post a reply if you get good luck.

What are the brands and models of the graphics card and monitor? Which output port on the graphics card is being used? What input port on the monitor is being used? What type of video cable is being used? What is the refresh rate of the monitor set to in the graphics card's driver setup?

Ill probably have to get around to cleaning out the inside to remove dust pretty soon. Also i have never renewed the thermal paste so i would have to get more. The Card is a GTX 970 and the monitor is a 24 inch Seiki Tv. Im using an HDMI cable. as for refresh rate, im not sure.

The refresh rate should be 60Hz. Check the NVIDIA Control Panel --> Display --> Change resolution settings to make sure that the correct display Resolution and Refresh rate are chosen. Do you also have VSYNC enabled in the games?
