Is 970M PRO3 compatible out-of-box with Vishera?

I am looking to go with an ASRock - 970M PRO3 with an FX-8300 build for my friend. I am wondering if the mobo is compatible out of the box with the FX-8300, or if it needs a BIOS update. If it needs the BIOS update, what would be the best way of going about that? Thanks.

Do you have any recommendations for around $400 that can perform better than this?

I had a strong feeling you would say that. I had thought about it myself but I am unsure whether it is worth it or not. Its a low end dual core vs a crappy old 8 core. Also, the GPU is an RX 460. I need to look for some videos of the CPUs being tested with Overwatch, GTA V, Rust, etc., considering those are the games he is playing.

Alright, well I have seen the benchmarks now, and it seems true, the G4560 reigns supreme everytime. I guess that will be the new CPU + GPU combo. G4560 + RX 460.
