I am looking at buying an SSD to run my operating system off once i get the money. AndI havent dived into the world of SSDs before so I only learnt of M.2 and NVME today. My question is which SSD should I get ?

1: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HDDSAM3500/Samsung-850-EVO-MZ-75E500BW-500GB-3D-V-NAND-SATA-I

2: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HDDCRU21525/Crucial-MX300-525GB-M2-2280-SSD-530MBs-reading--51

number one has faster R and W times but isn't a M.2 suppose to be faster? I am just confused on why the 2nd option is slower even tho it would be using PCIe and not SATA like the first one?

Thanks :)

You board can use neither an NVMe drive or an m.2 drive.

A regular SATA III drive is what you want.
You first link of the Samsung 850 EVO is the default choice.

Thankyou for the help :) could you explain why though? because a m.2 uses a PCI-Express 3.0 and my motherboard does have that so why wouldnt it work? does my motherboard simply not support it?

1. your motherboard does not support.

2. m.2 is simply the physical interface....how it plugs in
an m.2 drive can be either SATA protocol or NVMe.
