i5 or i7 with a gtx 1080

I'm building a pc for the first time http:// and I asked a guy at micro center about my build, and he said that I should get an i7. But I looked online and people said that getting an i5 would be fine paired with a 1080. So Im not sure what to do here.

an i5 will be fine if you are really strapped for cash. But i would recommend getting a second fan for that cooler master evo and overclock the i5 a little. At that point, it's basically the same as a stock i7.

I was unaware of this. I have used one before but it wasn't in my system. I can vouch for them though. for the price they did a great job even cooling an i7.
