hey im using the intel stock cooler and i adjusted it with bios to run slow when my cpu is cold and ramps out the higher the temps go and it works perfect
but out of curiousity what is the max rpm for an i7 4770 intel stock cooler?
if i put my cpu under 100% load and its at around 55-60c then i get rpm's of 2000-2100
is there a lot more room upwards?
also another question: is it harmful for the fan to run at low rpms? mostly my cpu chills at 30-35c then my fan only does like 900-1000 rpm ;p is that harmful or actually good for the fan so it can relax?

Solution
Intel's stock cooler RPM range is 800 - 2500. As long as fan runs within it's specified RPM range, there's no harm to it. Running fan lower than specified speed longer duration can damage it. Though, if the voltage is too low, the fan stops completely.
