So currently I am saving for a new, really expensive system. I have a amd fx 4200 and Radeon 7950 right now (really old I know). Would it be worth while pairing that CPU with a 1050 for the time being? Or would it bottleneck?

Solution
Well, since you're going to spend $1800 anyway, if you want to buy a GPU to use till you buy the new PC, go for a high-end GPU like a 1080 and then that will fit nicely with your new build, but if you ask me, I think this GPU is pretty good for most games.

So if I got something like a 470/570 or 1060 3 gb would I be bottlenecked? I know this processor is really old. I haven't upgraded for nearly 4 years.

The system will be around $1800 and I'll be buying around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I don't plan on reusing anything
