I have a dell optiplex 755 mt and im looking to put in a better graphics card i want the best one i can put in it without modifying anything i was looking at the msi 1050ti low profile but im skeptical about it fitting in my case then i seen the zotacs how they go down in size to like the minis and the oc edition heres the link to them that im looking at https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-DisplayPort-128-bit-ZT-P10510A-10L/dp/B01M27X994?th=1&psc=1 what do you guys think?let me know also ive done some research about the processor for this system and i seen since dell updated the bios to the a22 witch was in 2012 that the cpu can be upgraded beyond the core 2 quad q6700 that you can go to the q9650 at 3.0ghz but also read that i need a copper heat sink can i just use what i have witch it was the aluminum heatsink let me know thanks

Its PCIE 1.1 so it should work but does your monitor support digital DVI? Also your going to bottleneck the crap out of any current video card so get a low cost 4GB. Here is a better priced 1050ti as it really doesn't matter what speed factory OC it runs.

Dual slot isnt an issue just as long as its not a long 2 fan model. If you have a card in the legacy PCI move it down to the bottom one. You may need a quality PSU as the card requires a strong 300W PSU. If you need one I also posted a Antec earthwatt 380w.

See how their fliped https://www.google.com/search?q=pci+slot+on+dell+optiplex+755&prmd=ivsn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwizmIazx6TUAhWo8YMKHVL9Cx4Q_AUICSgB&biw=360&bih=520#imgrc=97MpA1zylAQXRM:

The two white ones are PCI slots, those have nothing to do with any videocard you will use. If the card is wide enough, it'll overhang one of those slots so you can't use it for anything.

The black one is the PCI-ex x16 slot, this is the videocard slot. The manual says the card can be longer than half length, but can't be full length. The length is given as 6.6". It can be full height though.

On the CPU heatsink, the stock heatsinks are usually the least expensive possible. This means they can work with the performance level CPU they were included with. So it is possible that reusing that heatsink with a more powerful CPU means temperatures will be a problem. It's not a for sure thing, but it's something to keep in mind.

The computer came with a intel core 2 duo i switched it out for a q6700 then i found out you can put a q9650 q9700 or a q9705 the only quad core i could find was the q9650 couldnt find the 9700 or the 9705 i seen em in tower's to be sold but couldnt find just the cpu. if i get the q9650 should i go to the copper heat sink? i aready have a q6700 at 2.7 ghz with the original heatsink And it does just fine no over heating temperature problems fan spins at normal speed ive never once heard that fan kick up in speed even at 100%
