Hello guys!Im little worried about my setup.I have gigabyte gtx 970 g1 and i5 3450 and I get 50-70 fps on 720p at crysis 3 (in the welcome to the jungle mission I get abou 35-45 fps).
So I want to know will I have a boost at 1080p or will it be even worse.Graphic card Is aittle bit weird because while I play crysis the usage is 40-60% and the cpu 80-92% and I know that it isnt the bottleneck.
I just have a fear to buy the full hd monitor. Please help :(.

Just because you dont have a bottleneck in one game does not mean you wont have one in another, some games are more gpu intensive than cpu intensive and vice versa. Wither 3 happens to be a game that is very gpu dependent, so no I would not expect the cpu to bottleneck the gpu in that game. Crysis 3 is both gpu intensive and cpu intensive, like I said if you have 90% cpu usage and 60% gpu usage you have a cpu bottleneck no doubt about it, that is the very definition of a cpu bottleneck.

You wont get a boost but I doubt it will get any worse, should stay about the same in terms of framerate. Increasing the resolution generally lessens the load on the cpu and increases the load on the gpu, so you may see gpu usage increase and cpu usage decrease at the higher resolution.

If your cpu is hitting 90% in a game and your gpu is only hitting 60% you have a cpu bottleneck. What is your cpu useage at idle? Do you have background programs hogging the cpu while you game?

Not at all but I have that problem just in crysis 3.While I play a witcher 3 my gpu loads 99% and cpu about 80-90% and the game runs beautifuly on ultra settings 60-85 fps at 720p.Other games too,COD MW remastered, far cry 4.

Today I installed Rise of Tomb Raider and its capped with v-sync 60fps on very high setting and without v-sync 70-80fps.I dont think its a botleneck because the other games runs beautifuly jus have a problem with crysis 3.
