I have run into a very strange problem. I'll put my computer into sleep mode overnight. The next morning, when I try to get it to resume (by pressing on the keyboard), the fan turns back on, but the power light keeps flashing, and the screen won't turn back on. The first time I had this problem was a day or two ago. That time, I could turn my computer off (can't remember whether I held down power button or turned off power supply) then back on, and it functioned normally. This time, I tried holding down the power button. Nothing. Then I flipped the PSU switch off then back on, and the computer started up the fan and the power light started blinking again, without me even pressing the power button to turn it on. I tried keeping the PSU off for 5-10 seconds, then turned it back on. I had to press the power button this time, but after that, same problem. I tried unplugging my computer, then plugging it back in. Same thing.

I then unplugged my computer, tried to vacuum it out a bit (didn't really do much) and made sure the ram was connected properly, then plugged it back in. This time, it booted just fine, and the power light acted normally.

I have no reason to believe that the problem won't happen again if I try to sleep my computer again. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

By the way, my computer is a desktop that I built a couple years ago, ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 motherboard, 16 GB Team Elite Plus RAM, AMD FX-8320 CPU, AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics.

Try resetting the CMOS, take out the battery from the mobo wait for 5 or 10 Mins put it back and boot. And look into the BIOS if you have any Lighting settings because some mobo's contains RGB lighting settings in the BIOS that could power on the lights on the motherboard even if you turn off it.

Thanks, but that seems very unlikely, given that the power supply handles starting up the computer, as well as 3D gaming, just fine. On top of that, the light shouldn't have still been flashing when I forcibly turned off the computer then turned it back on. Any other possibilities?
