Hey I have a CD DVD drive that I pulled from a 2009 prebuilt computer to put into my new build. However, I cannot pull the power cable out. What do I need to buy? Links appreciated if possible. Thanks!

Note: Company of the drive is Lightscribe

Solution
Almost all optical drives are IDE or SATA or USB. Internal drive in 2009 is likely SATA. My q6600 based HPs from 2007 had SATA optical drives.

If the drive is IDE it has a wide flat ribbon signal cable and will use 4pin MOLEX for the power connection.

If the drive is SATA is will use the same SATA power connector that HDD's use.

NOTE: sata power connectors have a release tab. If you cannot get the power cable out of the optical drive then likely you have not found the release tab. It is either on the top or the bottom of the connector near the middle. Press down into/towards the connector. The tab is on the plug, not the optical drive. Look at this picture to see what a sata connector looks like and to see where the clip...
2009 ?? Its quite likely its an ide drive from that period whereas now everything is sata.

Light scribe isn't a model of drive , its a technology included in many many drives to etch pictures or text on the disk surface.

The drive model & manufacturer will be on a paper label somewhere on the drive.

It's already situated inside the computer and if possible I'd rather not remove it. If it helps, it was taken out of a prebuilt storebought HP computer likely from Sam's Club

Not all sata power connectors have clips, but the ones in my HPs did. https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Latching-Power-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B00BBDL17G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496625923&sr=8-1&keywords=latching+sata+power+cable

Update, if you meant the power cable that used to plug into the optical drive stayed in the old computer, then you are all set. These cables come with the POWER SUPPLY not the optical drive. Your power supply in your new PC will have spare SATA power connectors that you can use.
