I am looking for a cheap silent mechanical keyboard ranging form CDN$50-CDN$120. Preferably backlit LED but not essential.

Thanks in advance!

As far as switches go, Cherry MX Blues have audible click and you don't want those. Cherry MX Browns are tactile and you may not like the bump in the key press. Cherry MX Black is linear but takes quite a bit of force to press it. While Cherry MX Reds need least amount of force to press them. Corsair has deal with Cherry MX and they also offer Cherry MX Silent switches in their KBs. Cherry MX Silent is same as Cherry MX Red but much quieter.

Though, to know which switches suit you the best, go to any PC hardware store and ask to test out different KBs with...

Do note that when you're used to type by bottoming out keycaps then it doesn't matter which switches you go for. The typing noise would be still heard.
