Hello i overclocked my laptop, it has been running fine for 2 years no problems, but now i have been following the clock speed and getting crazy jumps in clock speed that shouldn't happen(the investigation started because games like LoL or other that don't really need a high end pc started laging from 144fps to barely 60 even droping to 25 in high-effect areas).I have set my clock speed to be 880 from 745 and memory clock to 2300 from 2000 and have had no problem with this setup for 2 years now until yesterday when during a gaming session i checked msi afterburner if something has changed as i was getting very low fps on League, i checked and i saw that my clock speed was 980 and memory clock was 8000(which is just absolutely absurd). and then it suddenly changed back to normal, doesnt matter if i return to default clock speed or not it keeps happening.Tried playing on lowest setting still barely 60fps, tried reinstalling drivers nope, still barely 60fps tried resetting the windows using the built in reset tool on win 10, and deleting all my personal files, still barely 60fps.Temps are good atleast in my opinions under huge load 65c° idling? 45c°. Help would be much appreciated

P.S. I read somewhere that i could be thermal throttling my pc as one of the symptoms was alt+tabing out and it fixes it, for me it doesn't though, maybe for a second or two but no longer.

P.S.S. Sorry don't have cpu temps i'll post them TOMorrow if needed.

Solution

Apparently my fps was dropping due to having "wait for vertycal sync" setting on i turned it off and now i get a stable 200 fps on League. Quite the stupid problem imo, sorry for bothering this forum :D
