Call of duty MW3 Extreme frame drops

Hello there! So I caught a little bit of need for nostalgy so I installed "old" cod MW3 and wanted to play through the campaign. Later I realised that I am getting extreme frame drops that were not supposed to be here and I dont know why. I am getting from 60fps to 20fps in some scenarios and it is really weird and annoying considering my pc should be able to run it at least on 100fps stable. I want to say that I am having a bit higher temps with CPU but I doubt that is the problem here because its not even running over 50% cuz its not needed (adding screen). By the way my pc is I5 2500k 8gig ddr3 r9 280x on win10. PS: Game is originall on steam

Oh. So you did. I knew I needed new glasses. Which version of Win10? Home, Pro, etc.

Have you tried compatibility modes? If that doesn't work, your only option may be to run an older OS in a virtual machine.

Ofcourse it's maxed out. I mean come on.. this gpu is supposed to run this game on nearly 100fps 2560x1600 maxed out according to benchmarks. And also I played some multiplayer months before on the same hw and it ran fine so I don't really know what is wrong.
