Hello!
My name is alvin, hope you guys are doing great! Need a little help here today. I reformat my com recently to change to my new SSD. Problem is, everything went ok but it doesnt dectect my DVD now. I am using MSI h61m-p25(b3). i know its pretty old but still hoping i can keep using it. Using Win7. SSD is on sata port 4 on the motherboard.

Few things worth noting:
1. DVD drive was working when i used it to reformat yesterday.
2. I only realized DVD drive is not working today. It probably didnt work immediately after the reformat?
3. When i switch the dvd to sata port 4, the PC could detect the dvd. When i use the other 3 ports it doesnt detect (means doesnt show up in my computer and device management).
4. Cables are definitely connected properly.
5. PSU is definitely working properly.
6. I also wish to connect a extra hard disk to my motherboard after fixing this problem!

My best guess is the sata ports are disabled somehow. What do you think? please keep instructions simple! thank you in advance :D

Is there any way I could confirm it is broken and not that i do not know how to enable them?

It should be obvious if it's an option if you just look through the bios.
You can try hooking up your drives to them, if none of them every detect anything they're broken.
It may be there were dying off on you all along, hence why the DVD drive was working than it stopped.

I dont know but i think its a little weird if 3 out of 4 ports all spoilt at the same time immediately after a reformat. Coincidence much?

Eh, it's decently old, so who knows.
Either way the mobo seems to be the problem.
