Hello,
I am building a new pc mainly for gaming and editing. Maybe doing some mild overclock for cpu

Currently had these options in mind :
CPU : Ryzen 7 1700
Mobo : Asus b350-plus (maybe the new strix b350-f if it's available in my country soon)
GPU : XFX Radeon RX 580 8GB GTS Black
RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (2133mhz, cl14)
HDD : 2tb hdd
PSU : EVGA 750w GQ (I was told that 650w is already more than enough for this build, but somehow 750w is cheaper in my country for around 15$)
Case : Phanteks Eclipse 400s tempered

Would this be good enough? I've read that amd stock cooler is pretty good so I'm just gonna stick with it for now.

Other option I got in my mind is to change the cpu to ryzen 5 1600 and change mobo to asrock b350 k4 gaming then get a gtx 1070
also, should I get an SSD?

which shall it be? would like to keep it under 1200$ if possible, thanks

Hello. I would recommend the following build, with most of the things being same, but some major changes as well:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nDdYCy

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
Motherboard: Asus Prime B350-Plus
Memory: G. Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 16 GB (2x8 GB)
Storage: i. WD Blue 1 TB 3.5" WD10EZEX
ii. Sandisk Ultra II 240 GB 2.5" SSD
Video Card: Zotac Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB Mini
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold GQ

This build will run better than what you have done, especially the RAM and video card, because Ryzen benefits heavily from faster RAM, and the 1070 is obviously much better than the RX 580. Another option would be to wait for Vega, but frankly Vega is taking forever to launch, and you...

You don't need a better motherboard than the B350-Plus. It's a solid board.
According to PCPartPicker, the total cost of this build is $1181.85, after shipping from respective retailers, and a $15 mail-in rebate.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks,
this is really good, problem is GPU price in my country is very high compared to the listed price (around 100-200$ more, something about the manufacturer monopolying the market or something) so in the end that build cost me almost $1400 in total (still a managable price tho)
btw, if i change the cpu to r5 1600, would it bottleneck my gpu? also, any other cheaper option aside from asus b350-plus? i heard that gigabyte ab350 is pretty solid (cost around $30 cheaper in my country), another cheaper option would be asrock b350 gaming k4, msi b350 gaming pro, mortar or bazooka, but i've had problem with msi motherboard before so I haven't looked up about them as much

If you are going with a 1070, or anything below it, the R5 1600 will not be a bottleneck at all.

Other options include MSI B350 PC Mate(that name seems to repel customers imo), ASRock AB350 Pro4, the Gigabyte board you suggested, and some micro-ATX boards, if you don't mind them.
If you can somehow manage a 1070, it'll be a huge upgrade over an RX 580, though the RX 580 is a capable card as well - nothing close to the 1070, though. It'll last you longer at 1080p, and if your monitor supports it, will also do 1440p at Ultra settings just fine in almost all current games.

Are you not going with the Asus board because of the price? Because Asus boards are very good quality, so if you have doubts about the quality, worry no more. But if it's the price, then yes, it's a tad bit expensive. Here's a list of compatible motherboards, sorted low to high by price:

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#c=124&sort=price&page=1

You can pick whatever you like from here.

Thanks for the suggestion...
guess I'll be sticking to the 1st suggestion you give, except for ram and ssd...
Can't seem to find Gskill so I'm going with either corsair or kingston for now
and for ssd, i'll go with samsung 850 evo 250gb as it is cheaper (should be ok right?)

do u think I should wait for the new asus strix b350-f board tho? I heard the price is quite cheap and it should be available for another month or so I heard (don't know if it will be available soon in my country tho)

That's fine - the Corsair and Kingston RAM are OK, but try to get the Corsair over the Kingston - it's more popular and well-tested. There's no problem with the Kingston, but it's just less frequently used.

The Samsung 850 Evo was actually my first choice for the SSD, but then it was exceeding the budget according to what I was seeing...don't know how it's cheaper for you, but it's actually a better SSD than the Ultra II(marginally better, but better nonetheless). It won't be a problem at all.

No need to wait for that board - it does seem better, but we have no idea when it'll be coming out. If you can wait for it to be launched and then tested by at least a few people, then by all means, do so. But if you plan on getting this build as soon as you can, then waiting for a new product will be a waste of time, especially if it turns out to have issues, or just turns out to be a bad product overall. If you want to wait and check it out, then it's your choice. My recommendation would be to get the B350-Plus - it's a solid board, and you probably won't need anything more than it. The main difference between the two seems to be that the ROG one will have support for 3-way CrossfireX. It also has different audio and LAN chipsets. Other than that, a lot of the things are same between the two boards.

thanks, i'll stick with that build then
well I don't really need to get it now, because for some circumstances, I can only start using my pc probably after the end of July and some official ASUS forum in my country it should be available by the end of June
there's only 1 review I found regarding the board here https://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2017/06/02/asus-rog-strix-b350-f-gaming-review/1 (I don't know if it's reliable enough tho) and says that it's a good value board

Uh, don't rely too much on that review. Just wait for a more prominent reviewer to review them, and if they say it's good, you can go with it, no doubt. If you can wait that long, I'm sure a few people would review it by then, and you can know other people's opinions on the board. Once it's been tried and tested, you can get it, too.
