Adding more RAM boosts performance?

Will adding more RAM to my PC make games perform better? I want to squeeze out the most FPS out of Mass Effect Andromeda without lowering the settings to poor quality. The recommended amount of RAM is 16 GB and I only have 8 GB. Should I/can I buy another stick of 8 GB and install it next to my old RAM or do I need to buy a new stick of 16 GB?

I am new to upgrading PC components so here is a screenshot of all the RAM info I could gather from my PC. If you need more specs let me know.

Thanks!

More RAM info under the SPD tab, if you get another 8GB stick with same values there's a good chance they will work together well. If at all possible just get another stick same as you have now. As far as I know there's no DDR3 RAM of 16GB.
