Hello everyone, i am getting parts to build a new budget gaming computer but i'm still not sure whether the parts are fully compatible, here are the parts i will be getting:

-Case: Corsair Carbide Spec-02 (http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/carbide-series-spec-02-red-led-mid-tower-gaming-case)
-Power supply: FSP Hexa+ 500W (http://www.fsplifestyle.com/PROP161000099/)
-Motherboard: MSI B250M BAZOOKA (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B250M-BAZOOKA.html#productSpecification-section)
-Processor: Intel Pentium G4600 (https://ark.intel.com/products/97453/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G4600-3M-Cache-3_60-GHz)
-RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 1x8GB DDR4 2400Mhz (http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-lpx-8gb-1x8gb-ddr4-dram-2400mhz-c14-memory-kit-red-cmk8gx4m1a2400c14r)
-Graphics card: MSI GTX 1050 Gaming X 2GB GDDR5 (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1050-GAMING-X-2G.html)
-Hard Drive: Toshiba 1TB 3.5" Sata (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822149382)

Now to my questions:
1. The RAM i have chosen is designed for Intel X99 chipset motherboards, will the board i will be using (MSI B250M BAZOOKA) be compatible with the Corsair Vengeance LPX?

2. Is the power supply enough to powwer up the components and is the quality good?

3. Are the Intel Pentium G4600 and GTX 1050 good to pair together or there will be some kind of bottleneck?

Thank you

Solution

You can, and that would make sense if your motherboard only has 2 DIMM slots, but you're getting a 4 DIMM mobo. 2x4 and 1x8 are usually priced similarly. I don't see a reason not to get 2x4 now and then another 2x4 later.

2) I was going for the G4560 but i cannot find it so i went for the G4600
Fair enough.

3) I think the GTX 1050 will be just fine, i really can't afford higher than that for now
That makes sense too, but I'm with @Makentox, GPU should be...
That's all compatible and fine. It's a bit hard to make specific recommendations because you haven't listed prices. Are you in the US?

Couple of general comments though...
1) Get a 2x4GB RAM kit. It'll run dual channel (=faster). Probably won't make a huge difference in practice, but you've got 4 slots on that board, so no reason not to use a matched pair from the start.

2) There is literally 100mhz difference (~3%) between the Pentium G4600 and the usually cheaper G4560. Part of what you're paying for with the G4600 you choose is better integrated graphics, which is irrelevant for you with your GPU. If you can save a little money, even $10, drop to the G4560. I wouldn't pay any more than $5 extra for the 4600.

3) I agree with @Makentox -> if you can get a 1050ti, that would be a step up. You won't find any RX 470/570 cards right now because they've all been snapped up. So you're left with the 1050ti or 1060 if you can afford it -> though I suspect that'll be out of your price range.

Can you afford a better PSU? That one might be okay, but it looks far from the best to me.

If you list your region and preferred stores someone can have a look for you and see whether there are better options.

@rhysiam

1) I'm planning to upgrade the RAM in the future, can i use that single 8GB stick for now and buy another one of the same model in the future to become 16GB? will it run fine or i have to buy a kit of 2 RAM sticks together in order to run dual channel?

3) I think the GTX 1050 will be just fine, i really can't afford higher than that for now

Just go with 1x8 unless you cant find 2x4 at the similar price. Why u go for more expensive mobo and ram then if u cant afford even 1050 ti? Save money on ram and mobo and get 1050 ti, 1050 wont last long. waste of money.

That makes sense too, but I'm with @Makentox, GPU should be your top priority for this build. If that means getting a cheaper mobo, RAM, storage, so you can squeeze in a 1050ti, then you should absolutely do it.

As I said above, it is a bit difficult to help you when you don't list your region and how much you're paying. If you're happy with the more general advice you've been getting, then that's fine. And maybe you have found the best prices you can. But if you're interested in some more targeted recommendations you should post your region and the prices you're current looking at.
