Ok I can really use some help. Built my first PC with Ryzen 1600x and the MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON AM4 with GEIL EVO 3000 DDR4 Ram.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820158127 - Ram

After completing my build everything fires up, Fans, GPU Fans, Board Debug Lights but peripherals do not work and nothing to monitor. Checked everything 39874239487x over. Finally Realizing that this board supports 2400DDR4 ram and 3000+ after Over clock..... PC builder said my parts were compatible and my rookie self did not double check this. Could this be this issue???? I've tried getting the computer to BIOS without GPU, Without Ram and every different scenario and it will not boot to BIOS. Do you guys believe the RAM is the issue? Also if I get 2400DDR ram get the computer to bios and then overclock can I then install my 3000DDR4 Ram to the Board?

Please help any answers will benefit me!

Yes, those lights are to say the ram slot is filled, they can be turned off later if you like.

However, without reading your first post again, is your ram on the qvl.

Also, it's very possible that your board doesn't support that cpu without the bios first being updated, don't forget, most of these boards only shipped a couple of months ago with R7 support only, before the R5 line was released.

Something else to try is put your GPU in the 2nd PCI-E slot.
You cannot boot into BIOS without RAM and in your case without GPU (since Ryzen does not have igpu built in)-you need RAM on which the BIOS could load, and gpu which should display to a monitor. If it is a 3000mhz DDR4 kit it doesn't run at that speed by default- it defaults to 2133mhz JEDEC standard (most of the time it requires a CPU OC)- it can run at a higher speed (e.g 2666mhz) without a CPU OC but there is no official guarantee (you have to tweak some settings- OC). P.S. I run my 3000mhz 2x8gb ddr4 kit at 2800mhz/2933mhz wih an i7 6700K at 4.6ghz.

So you don't need another kit of RAM. IF it doesn't boot into BIOS there may be multiple causes (faulty RAM- a bit likely- faulty motherboard, improper installation (make sure all cables are properly connected were they should be- very likely situations).

Damn so then it should be booting to BIOS even with this RAM I currently have.... I have no Idea what steps to take, I've checked everything over a million times, something must just be faulty :(

The CPU Light comes on for like 2 seconds and shuts off.... Everything else is off the only lights on the board that light up are the lights that register that the RAM is installed. (Which I believe is supposed to happen)

Thanks for the response, I tried the PCI slot 2, but if QVL is the compatibility list, no that Ram is actually not listed on the motherboards compatibility site.

If you brought it all from the same place, id take it all back myself, and tell them it doesnt work, its either the RAM or the bios needs updating.

I know this thread is months old but, due to the issues from a new architecture and all problems relating to it (compatibility, etc) any information is valuable. How is the situation, now? I couldn't find anywhere that you tested with a gpu installed. I've read a lot, regarding different configurations, of the Ryzen system and it gets difficult to keep track of the details. I would've grabbed a gpu to start with. As has been said, it's a NECESSITY. If you haven't got one, buy a relatively cheap one, for now. As for ram, again, it's a bit of a minefield. Luck plays a big part here but, with bios updates still in the pipeline, hopefully the issues will decrease. This particular boards latest bios version is v1.8. Another Agesa update is, apparently, due to be delivered (I don't bother with the beta versions, preferring to wait for the official ones). I've come across folk who are using non listed ram and their systems are working fine.. others, who have the qvl ram, not so well. It's early days, though and more fine tuning is needed. I'm still curious about how your system is running now. Thanks.
