New build thoughts

This is a new build I'm planning. I am going to continue to use my GTX 970 until Vega is released since many people have suggested that AMD graphics work better with AMD CPUs than others.

I pretty much only game at the moment but I am choosing AMD just in case somewhere down the road I plan on using my pc for a workstation.

Thoughts on my build?

I still haven't seen any evidence that AMD CPUs would work better with AMD cards than with others. Furthermore I can't see how that would even work.

anyway, it's a good build. if you need to reduce cost, a Ryzen 1600 will easily do as well.
a X370 board is overspending imo. apart from Multi-GPU support, it doesn't really add much over a B350.
As much as I like Gigabyte boards, their AMD boards are pretty picky about RAM.
as is a 750W PSU. I'd go for the G3 instead of the G2, 550W maybe 650W if you plan on getting the best GPU on the market, will suffice with ease
unless you really really really want those LED-Ram sticks, they're bad business for their price tag.

That whole "AMD GPUs works better with CPUs" is BS if you ask me. Not to mention, you are still using a NVIDIA card, just saying.

However, this build has some overkill. Unless you need some extra features, that X370 can be brought down toa B350. Also 750w is a bit too much. 650, or even 550 should be enough. $250 for 500GB is not bad for a M.2 slot, but I would still go for a 250GB and a 1 to 2TB hard drive. Just because SSDs do not improve gameplay, just loading times.

All in all, it will get the job done.

No to the SuperNOVA NEX.

The 960 Evo isn't worth the $100 premium just for gaming purpose (PCPP listing of $220 is incorrect).

The SATA-based M.2 WD Blue is to eliminate the need for SATA cables from the PSU.

Scythe Mugen 5 will be back in stock on June 7th.

The 1600x will allow better DDR4 OC.
