i just got my new case motherboard and cpu i reinstalled windows i downloaded speecy to check temps and on cpu it shows minimum 65 to 98 temp while just on desktop and i can hear the noise aswell coming from it

im currently using stock cooler i applied thermal paste asweel but still same results as currenly im waiting for new cooler to arrive i have ordered CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler

Solution
Well for a cooler that wasn't resigned for a chip, yes 50c is good. You should really wait until you get your Cryorig. But that should be fine, as long as it's not over 75. I wouldn't recommend gaming yet, but that's just my three cents.
do you have a i5 or i7? And is this really an unlocked processor? If so, I hope you did not try and overclock it? How did you get a stock cooler? Did you get it from another CPU? Also did you completely wipe the thermal paste from the other cooler?

if that's in Farenheit, it's great. If in Celcius, I'd be worried and only use it under light load.
You typically want to keep your cpu under 80 celcius for continual use.

What cpu and motherboard are you using?

Type slower next time please? Lol

Task Manager would be correct in this case. Again not sure why it's so hot. I'm surprised it hasn't shut off yet. What is strange is that your overkill temps seem to be normal. Can you download MSI Afterburner or NZXT CAM and check the temps there? You could also check in the BIOS and see if it in spinning with the right RPM

Out of curiosity, what noise are you hearing exactly? Are the cooler wires brushing against the fan blades, slowing it down?

For a stock fan, expect idle temps around 45 to 50 and load temps maxing around 75 to 80. It depends a lot on your room temperature. Just remember that anything over 80 is climbing into the unsafe zone. (all temps in Celcius)

I had a similar issue with my new i5-7600. My CPU temp. was constantly hitting 100 Celsius and not going below like 80 Celsius. I have an AIO cooler-master mid level.

I was searching for ways to fix it before taking it back to my wholesaler to check their build and installs they did..... However, I found a setting in Windows 10 that sorted it out:

Here's how it's done.

  • Right click the Start menu and select Control Panel.
    Click Hardware and Sound.
Select Power Options> edit power-plan>advanced power settings
Find Processor power management and open the menu for MAXIMUM processor state.
Change the setting for on battery to 76%
Change the setting for plugged in to 76%.

This dropped my CPU temp down to around 50 Celsius now.
