Motherboard isn't reading the GPU

So, I am trying to figure out why my motherboard isn't reading my GPU. I have gone into the BIOs and switched to the PCI Express on the Northbridge. Everything I have done has failed. I switched out Hmdi cords at first then I booted the computer without the card installed and it booted to the BIOs. Now everytime I try to use the card it won't load anything on the moniter. I have two different cards. I have the GTX 650 ti boost and GTX 670 FTW. Tried both and both have the same outcome. I am using a ASrock mini itx board with 16g RAM. I also have no OS installed.

What are the rest of the specs? Motherboard (no BIOS support for a card - unlikely though if it posted once) and PSU being a couple of potentially problematic components.

You are connected to the GPU(s)... and not the onboard graphics output from the CPU/motherboard, right?

I am using a Rosewill 650w and I am not sure the exact motherboard specs.(friend gave me the m/b). The CPU is amd a4-5300. But this is the first time I have ever messed with such a small m/b. I am connected directly to the card. I am not sure what is going on. I have tried everything. I haven't updated the BIOs because I don't have an operating system.

Without knowing the specifics, it's tough the same.

A 650W Rosewill *should* be more than capable, but there are good and bad units. Which model specifically? (should be on the label on the side of the PSU)

A motherboard of the age of an A4-5300 shouldn't have any issues with BIOS support for 6XX cards.

Most new(ish) boards don't require you to be in the OS to update the BIOS - incase you're curious. USB and entering the BIOS to update is usually doable...... but not likely to be necessary in this case.

Again though, you are connecting your HDMI/DP etc to the GPU and not the onboard connectors.....yes?

My Hmdi is plugged into my card. The PSU is a Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL-S. It is an older PSU. I have another Thermal Take ATX 12v 2.2 (but it doesn't power on even though I have a PSU tester that said it was good to go). it doesn't have wifi so I haven't connected the internet to it yet. Still trying to get it all together. Do you think it's the BIOs or driver issue?

I'd be more inclined to look at the PSU in all honesty.

The 650TI Boost is a 140W card. The 670 is 170W

Your PSU would be more accurately described as a 430W PSU

Given it's dated, is a dual 12V rail setup and you have around 300W in power draw.... I suspect that's the issue.

As for the Thermal Take, the PSU test only confirms it'll turn on - not that it's actually capable of providing the power it says on the label.

So do you think the issue is spawning from the PSU it's self? It's powering everything but the Card. I had this in a computer about 3 years ago with 670. I changed it out because when you turn off the computer it stays on. The fans for the card kick on.
