Hello.

I recently bought an Asus G11 pc with the following specs:

Intel i5-6400
Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 6gb
8gb ram

For the first 2 days the computer was working perfectly and I was able to play some games on it. Until now.

This morning, I played CS:GO and the game recommended me to turn off Xbox's dvr setting. I exit the game, and open the Xbox app on windows 10 and the monitor froze and went black stating that there was no signal. I restarted the computer and opened Xbox's app for a 2nd time and the same thing happened. After various tries a message appeared stating: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." I then rebooted the computer 3 or 4 times and the message kept appearing.

After I changed some settings in Nvidia's control panel and not allowed my computer to boot Skype, Steam, Spotify, and One Drive at the same time and turned off my PC for about 5 hours. But when I turned it on after those 5 hours, Windows 10 booted with a black screen and I was only able to see the cursor and the place where you insert the password (don't know how it's called :p) Apart from all of that, the desktop booted correctly and I no longer received the message and I was even able to open Xbox's app and turn off the dvr setting. But, I opened CS:GO and was able to play for about 4 minutes and suddenly squares with a bunch of colors started appearing and the game closed but now I am stuck with this screen that has a bunch of yellow lines and dotted blue lines (I can even move the blue dots).

I already called Asus and they told me that it was a problem with the monitor, and they recommended me to factory reset the computer, but I really don't know if this will work.

What can I do? and what do you think it is?

My dad has recommended me to get my money back but I really don't want to due to the specs.

Thank You.

It sounds like it may be your graphics card crashing although I may be incorrect. I would recommend you (in order):
1. Just to be safe, if you have another computer test the monitor and see if Asus's support was correct (although I doubt it).
2. Download the latest GPU drivers from NVidia's website and try a clean installation of those in safe mode.
3. If that doesn't work you could try reseating your GPU in its PCI slot (check and see if opening the computer and doing so to the GPU will void the warranty first) and once again reinstalling the drivers.
4. The last thing you could do is factory reset it as they have stated, although you may want to make sure you aren't voiding any warranties before doing so.

If none of this works, I would follow your dad's advice and return it. There are plenty of people here that would be more than willing to help you find another similarly specced computer or help put a build together if you're comfortalbe building your own.

*Raises hand* I'm even willing to help you put it together, if you happen to be close to me. :D

I already tried everything except the factory reset and opening the computer, and it is still the same. Apparently my computer is not detecting the graphics card, since when I want to open Nvidia's control panel a message appears stating that the app is only available with an Nvidia GPU.

Also, in device manager the Display Adapters section appears with the name of the graphics card and a warning sign, and when I click on it, it states: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I bought this computer on Newegg and they told me that they will replace with a new G11, since also I have to boot the computer 2 times in order for the monitor to show the display, when days ago it was not doing that. I hope that one does not come with any problems.

Thanks for the help.

Wonderful, an error code. Error Code 43 for NVidia GPUs is usually a driver issue but since you've tried to solve that, it may be a hardware issue. There are a few more steps you could take to try and fix it before getting a replacement but it may just be easier to have Newegg replace it as solving a hardware issue won't be worth your money.
