Het guys, today i downloaded AMD overdrive for the first time.
I have a question, is it ok to be just above the 0ºC the thermal margin? or you need to be +15 or +20ºC to be considered totally safe?
I have an AMD Phenom II 965BE and when the processor is running Prime95 (SmallFFT) i get something like +4 or +3ºC, im wondering ... is it ok if i always stay in the "plus" side of the thermal margin? even by +1 or +2ºC?

Solution
No, it's not good to have it close to 0 as that's the temperature when it's supposed to throttle down (62 - 63c core). 10c margin would be considered very safe.

Bump.
I have an amd fx 8370, just reapplied new thermal paste (arctic mx4) bought new intake fan, think it was some slayer thing, and my thermal margin is 13.1 at 6 cycles of smallfft. Is that okay for a new processor? As I still have the option to replace this processor.

Ideally it would be 10°C or higher, but you probably don't run any application that keeps the CPU as busy as P95. Monitor it while you game or use office applications and it will be much cooler (higher thermal margins).
