1. The sata cables are working, I checked
2. they're recognized by windows but don't work.
3. the drives aren't recognized in the bios
does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I was looking online and it might be that the drivers aren't formatted, if so how do I format them.
I have ssd and sshd

Windows see's them but the bios doesn't?
If that is the case then I suspect your motherbd is in raid mode instead of ahci so you will either need to switch modes or use the the bios raid configuration utility to format the drives. During post you may see the message to press Ctrl+I or Ctrl+h to access the raid management setup.
