PC freezes mid game, then restarts on a loop

Hi guys

2 weeks ago, my PC would not turn on properly. Instead, it would continually restart over and over again until I disconnected the power. It would not get further than the boot screen. I took it to a repair shop, they cleaned it/re-arranged components and told me it was working. However, it is now doing the same thing again. It freezes mid-game, I then switch it off and attempt to turn it back on again but it restarts over and over again.

Any advice on this matter please?

Much appreciated!

told me it was working? They didn't show you? They didn't tell you what the issue was? Did you ask what was causing the issue or how they solved it? Something's not adding up.

re-arranged components? What does that mean?

My PC is not booting up. I take it to the shop. They say it's fixed. Thank you kindly. Two weeks later and it's back to its same old tricks. I take it back. They fix it and thank you kindly. One month later and it's not booting again.

I take it to another shop. We ran a SMART test and your HDD is failing. That's the reason it will boot sometimes and other times it won't. We chat for a minute. Okay, with your needs in mind we recommend a 120GB SSD. We can move your OS and files over to the SSD but we also recommend a back-up drive.

Which shop do I return to 1 year later when I am looking to upgrade my PC?

Hi, thanks for your response.
I was told that it booted up fine after the components were all cleaned and positioned correctly as they were out of place. I then took it home, it worked perfectly fine for 2 days and I went away for 2 weeks, came back and suddenly there was the same issue and also the freezing screen one too.

I've just taken it back to the same shop and explained the situation, hopefully I'll get a reason for the cause this time. If it is time for a new PC, hopefully they will be able to tell me what components are still working and can be carried over.

Hi, thanks for your response. Much appreciated. I've just taken it back and they are going to have another look at it over the next few days, why do you think it's at the end of its lifespan please?

Thanks again
