I'm going to build a workstation at the end of 2017, with a 2000$ budget.
I decided that the case will be the phanteks enthoo evolv matx tg, and i know for sure that i want 32 gigs of ram and a crossfire of rx 580 (same power of a 1080 with the price of a 1070. I dont know which cpu to go for, if i should wait for skylake x and ryzen 9 and pick one of them.
The sure parts are:
Phanteks enthoo evolv matx tg,
32 gigs of ram (no idea which to pick),
nzxt kraken x62,
rx 580 crossfire.
All the other parts are still to decide. Any help?
Thanks

Solution
You know it is premature to be making any decisions now.
Prices and products will change by the end of the year.

I do know, that planning on crossfire is not a sound decision.
Yes, you will synthetic fps benchmarks.
But gameplay will not be as good.
CF or sli is prone to stuttering, screen tearing, and even non support in some games.
Moreover, you need to budget for a more expensive motherboard.
A M-ATX motherboard is particularly problematic with 4 slots.
You will have a problem with the usual RX-580 cards with heat.
When cards are adjacent to each other, you will want a blower cooler.

Also, today, the RX-580 cards are getting overpriced because of being favored for bitcoin mining.

By workstation do you mean for game development? Because a crossfire setup won't aid you in AutoCAD/Sketchup/Maya work nor with rendering. In fact you'd be needing to go for a Quaro/Firepro setup.

Not the best setup but based on the info available now;

I would ask you to wait out until Threadripper and X299 come out in a few days time and ofc by the end of this year they will have matured in their platform implementation. In the interim period, you're going to have to state the nature of your work loads as well as the apps you're going to be using.

Well, i think i should go with a gaming card, as the main purpose would be game development. For the price of the quadro i guess i could pick a 1080ti. Are there already informations leaked about vega? Ps the crossfire is also for the looks =)
