Laptop not performing good enough..

I just bought a new laptop with the following specifications:
Dell Vostro 5568
Intel Core i5 7200u @ 2.50Ghz
8Gb ddr4 ram
Nvidia gt 940mx 2Gb
I saw some reviews on youtube with a laptop of same specifications but when I tried to run some games like gta V, Witcher 3, Far Cry Primal. All of them seemed to work just fine for a split second after which there is a huge drop in fps.
Example:
In Gta V fps drops from 75 to 25 On Low settings
In Witcher 3 fps drops from 30 to 10 (same for Low and Medium settings)
In Far Cry Primal Fps drops from 40 to 9-12 (Fps drops to 9 on every setting.)

One other thing as well is that since the laptop is brand new it could be trying to perform a bunch of windows updates which would eat up CPU.

There is really nothing to do. It is a weak cpu for gaming and weak gpu for gaming, it is what it is.

This is a very very entry level laptop for gaming.

GT 940 is entry GPU and only 2gb to boot.
That i5 is actually only a 2 core 4 thread cpu just like all the U versions are.

With that said you should not have that large of drops on low.
Are running on battery or plugged in as power settings will greatly decrease performance on battery.

Sir I have tried every setting and set everything to performance mode. I got 30Fps in witcher 3 which is much more demanding than far cry primal but cant get past 10fps in far cry primal and 25 fps in gta V
In GTA V my cpu was always at 100% but when I tried again just a few minutes before.I noticed that my gpu was at 100% while cpu was at 40%.
How can this be?

Also I get 30fps in witcher 3 at the lowest preset. But it randomly drops to 10fps for a few seconds and them goes back up. During that time the gpu core clock and memory clock speed drop from approximately 1000Mhz to 405Mhz. Both of them stay locked at 405Ghz. This also happens in far cry primal.Any solution please.
