I'm building a gaming PC. Saving money for that currently.
I have the choice of taking the locked i7 or a Ryzen 7 1700. Ryzen has been getting a lot of optimizations lately and I can also overclock it with the stock cooler. I also want to futureproof it a bit.
I'd prefer using my PC with Facebook open in chrome and I'd also like not closing one or two open programs before launching a game. That's how I currently use my G4400 anyway while doing about anything. Wouldn't the Ryzen handle that better due to having more cores?

Solution
Yes running secondary programs wouldn't effect the Ryzen nearly as much due to it has 4 core mostly free. Its been proven by recording for twich tests.
