Hello, my PC gave the error message of 'SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk....' and kept on for long until it crashed, after booting in again, the cursor wouldnn't move (even after two more reboots). The next day, luckily, it was on but many files were lost, I could see changes on the icons, taskbar, and several configurations + missing software. Albeit I got to salvage some files I hard to replace the hard disk drive. Guess what! The first boot gave me the same message (with a different HDD name isntead), 'No Audio Output Device is installed.' + a larger hard disk. I've made several attempts -on DriverEasy; DriverIdentifier; DriverPack; 3.14.0.0_WHQL-to install an 'audio device driver' all for nothing. The current driver is "High Definition Audio Driver" and I cannot updated driver software or check for Windows Updates, though I can remember the previous was 'Conexant High Definition Audio....', my futile ateempts remain solid. I've thinking of putting back the old HDD and copying a backup of the 'Conexant High Definition Audio Driver' and my remaining files but fear the veiled consequences.
My concerns are aimed at gaining an audio driver and previous files, inconsiderate of the SMART Failure. I can't use a drive enclosure, unfortunately, and so, beseech your humble advice.
2GB RAM; x32-bit; Windows 7 Ultimate-current OS; Windows 7 Home Basic-old OS.
I presume the SMART Failure is a providence of the heat my PC accumulates when in use or inactive=switched off with battery connected, I have to remive them after upon shut down or hibernation.
