Hello everyone,

So I have an issue with my work laptop. I just recently started interning for a company. While there, I work on a workstation laptop that is plugged into a docking station that consists of a dual-monitor setup, with a mouse and keyboard.

I took the laptop home with me today, but before I unplugged it, I put the laptop to sleep. So I put the laptop to sleep, then unplugged it from the docking station. I then brought it home with me, I swear that's all I did. As soon as I got home, I went to turn it on, and the only thing that happens is the little power button LED lights up for about 3-4 seconds, then shuts off.

I brought a charge cable with me, and when that's plugged in, it shows that it is fully charged.

I was wondering if the reason it's not waking back up/powering on could be because it is waiting to be plugged back into the docking station?

The laptop is using the Windows 8 operating system.

Well being an new intern I can see why you may not want to say you screwed something up and going to IT can feel like that's what your saying. In practice you did nothing wrong so take it to IT is a good route. One thing you might try is holding down the power button a full 30-60 seconds and see if after that you can power on. Beyond that I would not get to creative with fixes as breaking your work laptop would be far from ideal being new. As stated above that is what IT is for.
