FX8350 fails prime95 on default settings

Been looking into overclocking my CPU. It's kind of a bottleneck in my system and I feel like it's not enough for certain games. So got some software, and ran a prime95 test on default settings wich failed.

Within the first minute the first core stopeed, 3 mins after the that second one stops. Had it running for about 7 more minutes with no more stops.

Temp peaked at 68 for the CPU and 62 for Package (use HWmonitor). Clocks peaked at 4363 (no OC yet, but I want to reach 4,4/4,5). Voltage min: 0,924, max: 1,368.

Specs:
Sabertooth 990FX r2.0
FX-8350 w/ Seidon 120M cooler
HyperX Fury DDR3 1866Mhz 16GB
GTX 970

Any suggestions to what can cause these fails with default settings in BIOS?

that´s why your board can easily be OCed ;)
set the EZ mode to "normal" and not "ASUS Optimal mode"

you said BIOS settings are default, so you changed the settings after loading default? reset the BIOS by jumper.

AI Suite II and TurboV EVO is not installed as well?

I'm using prime95 v28.10. Yeah, used the first option, think it was smallfft. Gonna download amd overdrive and have a look!
Not sure about the bios version, gonna have to check that. Will post update in this comment.

Two of the workers had this error in prime95: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4921875, expected less than 0.4. Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file".

UPDATE:
Ran another test in prime95 with AMDoverdrive. Thermal margin was on a stable 9,2 after 10 mins. Only had one core stop on this test with a "FATAL ERROR: final result 5EC8BAFA, expected: C5E9DE8B.

UEFI bios version is 2501.

Elaborate a little please, wich test should I run and how long?

UPDATE: ran the test, 10min 40s in I had an error and the test stopped. Used CPU OCCT test. Now I have an image dump and no clue what to look for, only thing I noticed right before the stop was a slight drop in memory usage. Not sure how to look at the images tho. Only programs installed for this OC thing is prime95, hwmonitor, amd overdrive and OCCT. Using the "power" mode in BIOS if that can be the cause. Don't remember what the mode was called but not the power saving mode but the performance mode.

I actually wondered about that, cause the turbo clock for the CPU is supposed to be 4,2mhz but during tests I reach almost 4,4 by default..

Only BIOS settings changed after loading default is the power mode I think. But will do a jumper reset, if the FSB is still above 200 I'll manually set it and do another test! :)

None of those programs, or any other tweaker program.

Jumped the MB and ran prime95 for 10 mins with no errors on any of the cores. Then ran OCCT for another 10 with no errors. Thermal margin is at a stable 20 degress and the FSB is now at a stable 200 with a peak at 202. CPU is now peaking at about 4100 Mhz. Something wasn't default for sure... Anyway, now I can start overclocking and get it stable at hopefully 4,4. With manual settings, and not the "power mode"! Thanks alot for the help! :)

Well, I get seemingly stable clocks but temperature is a problem. Don't think the watercooler is the main issue but rather the chassie fans. It's a longshot but perhaps you would know how I can control them?

Didn't find my mobo supported by Speedfan, and would avoid AI suite because of the changes in bios to the CPU (will AIsuite override these changes or present a problem at all to this?).

All of them are 3-pin fans. They don't seem to adjust to temperature changes at all and spinning at a constant speed. If I could speed them up a little I think the airflow to the radiator will be alot better.

Update: Nvm. Remembered i put a shitty old fan over the radiator because it had LED lights. Changed it and dropped over 10 degrees instantly! :D
