AMD Turbo Boost a bane?

Even after replacing my motherboard to one with better cooling dynamics, adding more ventilation, etc., my CPU still runs hot. I have a FX8350 with a down blowing fan (recommended by the MB manufacturer for that processor on this board) and two high velocity fans on the side pulling air in and blowing towards the CPU and VRM with a couple of fans on the front pushing the air out. I have good ventilation. But it was still having issues with the CPU getting hot. I had seen people suggest turning of the Turbo Boost, so I tried it and sure enough, it showed my CPU averaging 7 or 8 degrees cooler, even under load.

So I am wondering, if Turbo Boost worth it? If you OC I have seen to turn it off and if you aren't OCing it seems to run your temp up. So is it ever worth using?

Oh I know the heatsink for my CPU is too small. It is an older stock AMD one for a smaller CPU. I have a Wraith coming and that should fix up the last of the heat issues. I was just surprised at how much a different the Turbo Boost had on it. With he Turbo Boost on, after a few minutes of a next gen game, the PC would shut down, but with it off it would play a long time with no problems. Running warmer than I wanted, but not to the point where it would shut down. Hopefully with the Wraith it will be where it needs to be. I saw a comparison of the Evo 212 and the Wraith and the Wraith supposedly cooled slightly better.

My issues started when I got Mass Effect Andromeda. I had a CPU that didn't meet the minimum requirements, but it would play for a while, then the PC would shut down. All symptoms pointed to a PSU, so I replaced that. Worked better, but still kept having issues, so I got a temp app and it was hot. I got to looking and my CPU fan had gone bad and was barely turning. Replaced the fan and the game ran fine, no problems whatsoever. But I wanted to play the game at max settings, so I get a new CPU and then a new motherboard as my old motherboard had poor cooling characteristics and the 8350 runs hot already. I ended up getting a full ATX board, so I had to get a new case also. The CPU fan I have is from the 6300 I used to have, way too small, but I put in several case fans, four total plus a fan that plugs into a bay spot, so I have good ventilation. The rest of the temps are showing good, but as I play the CPU temp creeps up slowly. The Wraith should fix that. It should, at this point pretty much everything in it is new, LOL. I had wanted to replace everything the first of next year with my income tax refund, but no need now. It is all new!!!!
