I have been trying to solve this for hours and read up all the forums regarding my issue, tried all the solutions and nothing works.

I recently upgraded my mobo, cpu and ram, the mobo being an ASUS prime b350m-a.

Everything switches on and fans are working fine, bios screen pops up and keyboard and mouse are fine and usable in the bios. But once I save and exit it goes to windows, my keyboard and mouse stop working.

I do not have access to a ps2 keyboard.
I have enabled all settings on bios regarding USB, legacy is also enabled.
I have tried entering safe mode but it is the same, keyboard and mouse do not function so cannot login and download drivers etc.

Any comments/solutions are welcome, I'm not the brightest at PC's so please be nice!

Just download and stick it on a DVD kinda of, you can either use the media creation tool to put it on a DVD or USB stick, or you can download the ISO and you'll have to use something like rufus to put it on a DVD or USB.

When you head to install it, just select the option "I dont have a product key" it will just continue with the installation on trial.

I take it you are using Windows 7 right ?

Windows 7 doesnt come with the USB drivers, and as you dont have a PS2 mouse or keyboard, theres nothing you can do about it except upgrade to Windows 10 which is exactly what M$ want you to do and are trying to force you to do.

You will have to download windows 10 onto a DVD or USB stick on another computer and upgrade your current computer.

It is windows 7 home premium. I may consider buying one if it really boils down to it, I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do

I did try to install an pirated copy of windows 10 by CD-ROM, but it wasn't bootable for some reason. This was my first attempt at trying to resolve the problem. But for some reason it just wouldn't leave the Bios screen, when I boot override to CD-ROM it just goes back to bios.

Can I ask why this was working before in my old motherboard compared to this one? I would have assumed that everything would have just worked fine after

Doesnt have the newer USB or LAN drivers built into Windows 7, whereas your old system probably did have, even if you could download those drivers on to a CD, theres no way you could install them on your new computer without a working mouse or keyboard.

Ive got no comment about your copy of Windows 10, but you can download a 30 day trial genuine from the Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

If you have a genuine copy of Windows 7, heres how you can still get the free upgrade to Windows 10 http://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/

Hello, can you tell me something friend? I just wanted to know if a software like Rufus is important to use while using a usb to install windows, because i just copied and pasted all the contents of the Windows 10 setup and it worked for me. I do not think it is important maybe!

Its required if you want the USB stick to be bootable, your usb stick must have already been bootable, otherwise there is no way that would of worked, as the boot files contained in the ISO wouldnt of been copied to the right place.

I had an .iso file of Windows 10, but I extracted it thru PowerISO and then I deleted the .iso files. I simply copied the setup files (boot folder, efi folder, sources folder, support folder, autorun.inf file, bootmgr file, bootmgr.efi file and setup.exe program) and it was working!
