I have 3 drives 2 SSDs and 1 HDD. I have windows 8.1 and windows 10 on both my SSDs. My question is can i run a game from the other ssd for example if im in Windows 10 and want to play starcraft can i with no issue play from windows 8.1 SSD provided i have the client install on windows 10 ?

Solution

it may depend on the game. some programs install to a specific OS so if you try to run a game that was configured for windows 10 then it may not work or be unstable

From the way you've stated it, it looks like you've partitioned an SSD. If so, you should have each OS on it's own SSD since adding a partition degrades the life of an SSD. That being said, why not just install the game into the OS'es directory? In retrospect people with dual booting system's have one OS to do productivity chores while the second OS is for recreation/games.
