Why would a graphics card have a 8 pin plus a 6 pin power connector? Its for the Saphire Nitro+ RX580 and the 1x6 pin says its optional on the website. Never seen this before so just was curious.

Second question is would you go with the MSI RX 580 Gaming or the Saphire Nitro+ if they are the same price?

The optional power port would be more for those who are overclocking if it's optional, if it wasn't optional then it would be because of the overclock they put on the custom card, I've personally never used an msi or Nitro cards but I hear great things about Msi cards, I don't hear about Sapphire cards that much but i'm pretty sure the msi card also has a higher boost clock
