So the 2.4 wireless my Netgear WN2000v3 is putting out is around 5mbps (BITS, yes I know) while wired directly into the router I get speeds of 60mbps. So, can this be fixed in the configuration of the router, or should I just buy a new router? ***Maybe important side note; there is a signal extender in the hallway between rooms (about 15 feet from the router, and then 15 feet away from my computer)
Removed the signal extender from where it was plugged in, still receiving 5mbps.

That's strange. Guess Netgear needs to up their site. What is the distance to the router. Don't get to close or you will get bounce interference. A good 10 feet should do with nothing in between. And this is on all device, correct?

I would invest in a new router to deliver 80.211ac speeds regardless, but that's just me. I have the ASUS RT-AC56u and I have no problems whatsoever.

I'm not sure where you're getting that it has a 5Ghz option. It does not.
The speed I pay for from my ISP is 50mbps.
While wired into the router, I get that speed.
While on the router's Wireless, I get 5mbps.
I am not doing anything else while running the speedtests.
I have run both speedtest.net and speedof.me, each has given me near identical results.
