PC Won’t start after CPU upgrade

After upgrading my Intel CPU from a Pentium to an I5 4460, my PC starts for a few seconds then shuts off. The power buttons are unresponsive after the PC is turned on. Tried clearing the cmos and taking out GPU and RAM. The same results happen when I put the old CPU back in as well. The monitor won’t turn on or display that it is connected to the PC at all.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. In this case you should list your before and after components as well.

List them as:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Did you make sure you didn't bend any pins in the CPU socket? Did you perform a BIOS update prior to dropping your new CPU? Also a point of concern, did you make sure to do a reinstall of your OS?
