My PC had been working perfectly for 4 months before this happened. I was using my PC and then it crashed suddenly and I got the BSOD. It restarted and got to the BSOD again and the loop continued until I powered it off. Since then I have not been able to boot.
I suspected it was a software problem, so I secure erased my SSD in BIOS and did a clean install of windows 10, but still got the BSOD. It then became unpredictable. Sometimes I get to a black screen. Sometimes I get stuck at the ROG logo screen. Sometimes I manage to get into BIOS, but it crashes. Sometimes I get to BIOS and then try to boot and get a BSOD.
The BSOD errors I get:
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Motherboard recurring Q-code: 62, 79, 96, b2
I have tested it without the GPU, with two sticks of ram, and with one stick of ram. All have the same results. All my research pointed towards the CPU being the culprit, so i decided to reseat it and see it that will solve my problems, but that did nothing.
In the BIOS, both the CPU and all 16GB of ram is recognized. My question is: even if the CPU is faulty, can it still be recognized by the motherboard? And would I have been able to reinstall Windows 10 with a bad CPU? I just want to know if the problem lies in the CPU or motherboard, so I can get a replacement.
