Should I buy 1080ti now or wait until end of July for Vega? I currently do not have a card in my system however, I recently did EVGA step-up to a 1080 but want to have better performance at 4k so I planned on selling that card for around $480 and getting a 1080Ti. But now that I saw vega running DOOM at 4k better than the 1080Ti I wanted to see if it was better to buy the 1080Ti now or wait and possibly get the 1080Ti or Vega for a cheaper price.

Specs:
Intel i7 7700k
Maximus Hero IX

RX Vega might not launch until august time frame but Vega FE will launch soon. we might get a glimpsed on Vega performance then. even if Vega FE is not for gaming purpose the performance difference might not that big. based on that you might be...

Lol. Doom reminds me of Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3). A lot of good things were said of the Unreal game engine. I gotta admit, I fell in love with UT3 multiplayer for 2 or 3 years.
As far as big Gsync and Freesync, I'm counting my coins and questioning the options, too.

I heard the same thing. I was waiting for Vega to launch since Dec '16. Then two months ago, my 390x 8gb took a dive and kacked. I thought, 'no porblem'. AMD manufacturers just came out with the 580 8gb oc cards and I'll get a temporary fix for under $280.00. That's when I discovered there were no more 580 8gb oc cards because the cryto-miners bought them out. So I was left to make a quick choice. Grab a 580 or 1070. Since I already have a 144hz Freesync monitor, I scrapped the 1070 idea and and quickly purchased a Sapphire RX 580 8gb. A few days later, the 8gb cards were sold out or priced above 300.00. Not only the Sapphire but the most major 580 8gb card manufacturers.
So now that Vega is a few months away, I've budgeted myself to expect above $600.00 prices. If Vega ends up below or around $400.00, It'll be a first come as first serve basis. Some economist are actually saying to get out of stocks and get into crupto-mining or alternative stocks. So they're putting some pressure on gamers to expect short supplies. With shortages of HBM, Vega doesn't look cheap.
