Solid underscore/dash on black screen no BIOS boot screen.

Solution
I had the same problem, to solve I removed the cable going from the motherboard to the hard disk from the motherboard and plugged it in to another free input slot on the motherboard, the computer then booted as usual the only trouble was that every time it was restarted or shut down the blackscreen/Underscore would show up with no BIOS on power up. I then switched the hard drive cable back into another input on the motherboard. It rebooted so I backed up on to an external drive, formatted my internal drives and reinstalled windows. Every time it restarted I'd turn off the computer and switch the cable from port to port on the motherboard, once finished reinstalling the drivers and Windows the problem went away. If you can get your PC to boot you could try reinstalling your motherboard Drivers first.
