I have my 4x4 16 gb ddr4 Ripjaws 4 3000 mhz, left from my past x99 build, can i use the four dimms in all 4 slots of an x370 motherboard without issues?
I'm just searching a mb that can overclock the cpu to 4 ghz all cores and one that support my memory
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-motherboards,3984-3.html here's 2 x370 borads that Tom's hardware has reviewed, I'm currently using the X370 gaming K4 and i've gotten a stable 3.9ghz on my 1600x, but if i had the time testing to make sure my 4ghz overclcok is stable i'm sure i would get it that high, it really matters about the cooling and if you get lucky with the chip, i've only pushed my 4ghz overclock up to 1.43125 volts, i'm sure with more volts it would work, and maybe if I get luck 4.1ghz but i doubt it, my cooling solution couldn't handle me going up to 4 or 4.1ghz that's some more of the reason why i didn't push...
yes you will be able to, however you won't be able to use the full speed of it until you update the bios of the said x370 motherboard, also make sure that the speed is supported by the motherboard, why are you moving from X99 anyways, just to ask?
G. Skill ripjaws are supported by most motherboards, in fact, G. Skill is the best ram to use with Ryzen at the moment, all the problems seem to be with Corsair ram, ive never had a problem running my trident z rgb at 2933mhz and sometimes 3200mhz on 3 different AM4 boards, 2 B350s and 1 X370.
as long as you update the bios you can use the fastest speed the boards allow, when they ship with the factory bios that's the trouble it has with the ram
