Can i use these RAMs together?

Im planning to expand my KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX with KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX. Is it safe to pair them up? My mobo is Asrock z77 extreme4 with an i5-2500k. As far as i checked the timing and the voltage are the same. Will they be working together?

Mixing RAM is always a gamble. If the specs are similar, it does work most of the times. But there is no guarantee that it will. You can only find out by trying.
