I would like to know what the best possible fan cooler for the i7-7700k, i do not want to do water cooling because im a first time builder. People have recomended the darkrock 3. ib was going to go with the 212 but i dont know if thats a good choice anymore. I am from Australia and if there are any Australian you will know how hard it is to find Australian parts so please help if you need my build i can reply to you with the specs.

The H5 recommended above is a good choice but if you want the best and quietest : beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3. I can confirm that it performs very well on my i7 6700K OC to 4.6ghz; also quiet and very high qualitty finish. I recommend installing it out of the case (I asked someone to help me as it is quite a cumbersome process by yourself) and then putting the mobo in the case. You also need low profile RAM heatinks. Note that you won't see the RAM dimms with it installed. Other options would be: Noctua NH-D14/15 (best cooling but ugly fans), Coller Master V8 etc.

I have that exact cooler and I would say it is good for stock cooling. If you want to push the CPU to 4.7-4.8GHz then I'd get a bigger beast of a cooler. I can recommend it. It's big and it doesn't run loud.

I was talking about the beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3, not bequiet Dark Rock 3 but you are still right. The thing is that with a bigger heatsink you have a larger thermal headroom and will not thermally saturate over longer periods of use.

dark rock 3 pro comes with higher RPM fan which will make much higher noise. Extra price not worth it.

You make a mistake buying dark rock 3 when cryorig H5 half of the price, with very similar performance and noise level.

If you want god of AIR coolers and same price as dark rock 3 pro get this one
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/27666/noctua-nh-d15-cpu-cooler/
Noctua D15 has the best performance and very quiet even on full load. But good luck with whatever you buy.

I know about the Noctua NH-D15. The color did suit my build.
