hi there guys. i just bought a new, cheap 550 w CIT psu and there is a bit of a burning smell from the exhaust. i know its cheap so want a better more reputable one. any ideas for 50 quid as the budget? also should there be any smell from the cpu? its always very cool and only gets up to 70 degrees on games like farcry 3. let me know.

EVGA 500B, Corsair CX 450M/550M however we will need to know what the rest of your system's specs are. I merely suggested those two units since you had a 500W unit beforehand but in all honesty it's possible that your system will need more than that.

I would recommand you the new like lutfij suggests ,corsair cx450-550m like lutfij suggest, its a solid new DC-DC-> platform.
the old corsair cx sucks because of the poor quality components.
