I'm building a cheap PC around some old parts and accidentally bought a power supply with only one 6 (+2) pin PCIe connection. The graphics card I'm trying to use needs 2 6 pin. I have a PCIe to SATA adapter cable. Would it work/be safe to connect that to a SATA connector from my power supply as to get the second PCIe connection?

Solution
In general if the power supply does not have the proper connections for the card then no it cant handle it.
I'm thinking you mean you have a Molex to PCI-E connector but still the same answer.
To be 100% sure you would need to list all the parts of the PC and the make and model number of the power supply.

Thanks for the response. I'm not going to try it.
