Should I get a sound card?

I have a msi motherboard with audio boost 3 and I'm wondering if I should get a sound card since I really like to listen to music and want to take full advantage of my speakers. And I wanted to know any pros and cons of having a sound card.

Sounds cards are for 7.1 systems and Audio engineers/music producers who need higher quality audio inputs for recording music/vocals.
It's a waste of money for basically everyone else.
High quality headphones don't really have 7.1 either, or they do it all off 1 cable. 7.1 speaker systems don't run off 1 cable only though.
