currently got an i7 6700k, 16gb ddr4 3000, gtx1080ti. im thinking of possibly going to 32gb since technically i only have 12gb since windows uses about 3-4 itself. anyone think going to 32gb is worth it for future gaming at 1440p and very high settings on all games??? thanks

you'll probably be fine with 16gb for a good while still. If you somehow find yourself using all 16gb than yes buy more RAM. More ram doesnt improve performance unless you were using all 16gb.
It certainly won't hurt anything, unless you end up with significantly slower memory, but that's kinda beside the point.

On the other hand, having 32 GB, I often find myself loading the entirety of older games into a RAM drive to play, or even new games like LoL that just happen to comfortably fit. Nothing wrong with getting load speeds that easily beat an SSD or M.2 drive. Plenty of RAM left for running games, which tend to see significantly diminished returns with any more than 8 GB free for the game itself.

Be creative. I often find myself tossing video files I'm editing on a RAM drive. Works great! Must be something you've wanted to improve the performance of? :)
