New Graphics Card and ASUS Anti-Surge is keeps rebooting my PC

It's a long story, but in short, I installed a new video card today, and now my PC keeps rebooting when I'm in Overwatch or other games. I then get a message on bootup that ASUS anti-surge triggered a power surge and shut my PC off for my own safety.

The longer story: I bought a GTX 1060 last month and used it perfectly fine for two weeks until one day, the GPU started shutting my PC off randomly and would spin the fans very loud each time. I considered this a case of my GPU being faulty and sent it back in for a replacement from Amazon. I then gamed with my old GPU, a Radeon HD 7950 just fine until the replacement GTX 1060 came in today. Now, with the new 1060 in, I'm having this problem w/ ASUS anti-surge.

My concerns and confusion:

  • ■ I used this setup -- this precise combination of graphics card and power supply etc -- just fine for a while. This is why I'm skeptical that one of my components is suddenly bad, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong.
    ■ My drivers are definitely all up to date.
    ■ This reboot has happened when I'm in a game for over an hour, and also when just launching a game and being in the main menu for 10 seconds. At the same time, I also played games for hours and hours today without any problems.
I've read that ASUS anti-surge is over sensitive and that it should be turned off, but I'm worried I might fry my motherboard if I do that and this ends up actually being a real power surge.

My specs:

  • ■ OS: Windows 10, latest update
    ■ CPU: Intel i5 4690
    ■ Motherboard: ASUS Z87-A
    ■ RAM: 12GB
    ■ GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 OCV1
    ■ PSU: Corsair CX600M
I also just cleaned my CPU and reapplied thermal paste to see if it would do anything, but it's still rebooting.

Solution
Seems like it's my power supply. I swapped components around with my brother's PC and compared performance. He has a much newer power supply than mine. Here were the results:

  • ■ My GTX 1060, my original power supply: PC reboots after a few minutes of playing Overwatch
    ■ His GTX 1070, my original power supply: PC reboots when I click "Play" on Overwatch
    ■ My GTX 1060, his power supply: was able to play two hours of Overwatch uninterrupted.
So, it seems like my power supply is the weak link here. Therefore I've opted to just buy a new one. I've been using this power supply for ~4 years so I'm guessing it was near the end of it's life cycle, or maybe the age difference between the architecture of the power supply and my graphics...

If I turn off anti surge is there risk of me frying my motherboard?

Also, as an update, I'm also now having the same issue as when I originally RMA'd this graphics card, where my monitor shuts off when gaming and the fans spin really fast. Maybe it really is my power supply or something then, and not the card?

Regardless, I guess this is solved for now. I'll post an update once I get my new power supply in.

My new power supply came in this morning and I installed it, along with putting my new graphics card back in. I played all day today without any problems, so... so far so good, I guess!
