Like my title says, when i tap my mouse, it stops and freezes for a second and then goes back to normal. I have a razer naga btw. This seems like a small issue, but by light tapping i also mean just lifting it up and putting it down to scroll/move your cursor with more comfort. Another thing to add: when i was playing overwatch and this happened the cursor stopped moving, but i could still shoot people, just not turn to face them.

Thanks for the help and ask more questions if you need

edit: after playing more games, it feels like the freeze sometimes happens randomly. dont know if this is true or not

I think I understand - you are moving the across the screen but when cursor is at mid-screen the physical mouse is at the edge of the table. So you lift the mouse, move away from the edge, set the mouse down, and continual movemet towards the edge of table again.

The mouse should handle that fairly well. I just tried to force a freeze via my wireless Microsoft Mouse 5000. Could not get a freeze up or any misbehavior to occur.

My thought is that the lift, move, bump is just enough to cause some combination of sensor inputs that are just enough to confuse the software.

If at all possible rerrange work space. Tables tend to be higher than desks and I am sure your are making do as best you can with what you have. However, you may...

Has the mouse always been that way or did the problem just start?

What you describe is, in my mind, more of a "lift and drop" - i..e, a bump. Versus a tap like you might tap a keyboard key.

The end result of the bumps could be that multiple movement sensors or buttons are responding and mouse drivers and any subsequent software just do not know how to respond. Hence the freeze until the confusion of inputs is sorted out to the point where the all is ignored and the software just moves on.

Over time the bumping may be causing other problems within the mouse.

I would think that if you have to lift and move the mouse to obtain more comfort you probably need to rearrange your space if at all possible to avoid needing to do such moves. I.e., a bigger mouse pad.

The overall idea being to find a way not to have to lift and move the mouse. Such movements can be fatiguing as well.

When i say that i have to lift the mouse to make it more comfortable, i lift it so that when i want to move my mouse across the screen, i don't move my mouse off the table. Don't you have to do that?

But yeah when i drop my mouse slightly on my table it freezes for a few seconds and then is back to normal.

Google "ergonomics" and do some reading. Ergonomics can and do make a difference.
