(Any program) has stopped working problem reason

hey hello everyone
My specs are q6600 2.4 ghz
8 gb ddr2 ram
Usually consulting some games i get a problem and game goes till loading and then it says that (_ HAS STOPPED WORKING )
Can anyone please tell me the reason for this problem (it happened also in farcry 4 ) and also i hope that this problem is not due to the specs
please also tell me if i would be able to run gta 5 on my newly bought R7 240 2 GB DDR3 (GIGABYTE) (which i purely bought to play this game also mention if i would play the games like bf 1 even on 480 med settings (i hope so )

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the q6600 and 8gb of DDR2 ram is not going to cut it in games these days, which may well be why you're having difficulties with these games. Also, the R7 240 will struggle with BF1, especially when paired with the q6600, as an i5 paired with this card struggles to maintain 30 fps with the settings you described.

rgd1101 is right: with old pc's, usually failure is due to the PSU giving out.

Maybe try the lowest settings? It would have been smarter to save up the money that gta costs and put it towards a better pc, because with the one you have now, you will be lucky to even run most games at their lowest settings.

Use DDU and reinstall your graphics drivers.

but i have updated the driver consistently using radeon settings and currently i am using the best one available

i also wanna tell this if this can help

currently i am running watch dogs 2 on med 768 but along with a little cpu bottleneck
now hat are your thoughts about gta 5 on this
please reply :)
